Automatic Admission Scholarships

Transfer students will be automatically considered for the scholarships listed below.

Transfer Scholars Award

Award Amount	Requirement
$1,000 for first year at UNI	3.25+ college GPA Full-time, on campus enrollment

Transfer Success Award

Award Amount	Requirements
$1,000 for second year at UNI	Pell Grant eligible Must have received Transfer Scholars Award in previous year Completed 24 or more hours at UNI with 3.0+ GPA Full-time, on campus enrollment

Inspire Award: $1,000 per year, for up to two years

Requirements:

Member of TRIO program
Minimum 3.0 transfer GPA, minimum 15 transferrable credits
Full-time, on campus enrollment
Scholarships are renewable with a 2.5 GPA and continuous full-time, on campus enrollment

Additional Iowa Resident Scholarships

The following scholarships require additional materials to apply for the scholarship. Priority consideration is May 1 every year, or as funding allows.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

$2,000 ($1,000 each year for up to 2 years). To renew for a second year, you must maintain a 3.0+ cumulative GPA and continuous full time enrollment at UNI.

Requirements:

30 transferrable credits post high school
3.25+ college GPA
Member of Phi Theta Kappa
Must complete a PTK Transfer Scholarship Confirmation form.
This scholarship has limited funding. Priority date is April 1 (for Fall entry) and November 1 (for Spring entry). Please note no PTK Scholarships will be awarded after the start of the semester.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All Iowa Academic

$2,000 for first year at UNI (to renew for a second year, you must maintain a 3.0+ cumulative GPA and continuous full time enrollment at UNI)

Out-of-State Scholarships

Automatic Admission Scholarships

Applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarships listed below. Must maintain out of state residence for continued eligibility.

UNI Advantage Award

Award Amount	Requirement
$5,000	Admission to UNI Renewable for a second year with continuous full-time enrollment and good academic standing.

Legacy Scholar Award

$2,000	Must be a non-resident. Must have a parent, grandparent, or sibling who graduated from UNI or a sibling currently enrolled at UNI. Renewable one additional year with a 2.5+ GPA and continuous full-time enrollment.

Inspire Award: $1,000 per year, for up to two years

UNI Scholarship Application

The UNI Scholarship Application is yet another way for students to be considered for scholarships. This streamlined application allows students to apply for hundreds of scholarships within one application. The UNI Scholarship Application is open every July 1 and has a priority of February 7.

Grants

Grants are another form of "gift aid" to help you pay for college.
Eligibility for grants is based on financial need, as determined by the FAFSA.
Complete the FAFSA each year to be considered for grants.
