Future Ready Iowa Grant
The Future Ready Iowa Grant is the state of Iowa’s newest grant program. This grant was designed for students pursuing high-need professions and are 25+ years of age. See below for eligibility criteria and the list of eligible majors at UNI.
The grant would be awarded for up to $3,000 per year if enrolled full-time (12+ hours per semester). Award amounts are pro-rated based on less than full-time enrollment. The amount of grant money you receive from the Iowa Department of Education may change based on available state funding.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Iowa residents who are age 25 as of July 1 preceding the academic year.
- Enroll at least part-time in an eligible program of study (see list of qualifying majors below).
- Recipients must be continuously enrolled and continuously receiving the grant to qualify in future semesters.
- Enrollment during the summer semester is not required to meet the continuous enrollment/receipt provision.
To Apply:
- Students will need to have completed the 2024-25 FAFSA and the Iowa Financial Aid Application.
- Awards will be authorized by the Iowa College Aid Commission in November. The UNI Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will revise existing financial aid offers as necessary once notified.
Qualifying Majors
Students whose programs are removed from the list will still be eligible for the Future Ready Iowa Grant until they complete their credentials or leave school, as long as they meet all other eligibility criteria.
