Visit campus
Visiting college campuses is the cornerstone of your campus search process. Students typically schedule their first visit in the spring of their junior year. We'd love to welcome you and your family to campus! Our visits include Panther Visit Days and Daily Visits. Special visit days with a more specific focus are also offered in the fall.

They're a lot like your high school counselor – ready to assist you in reaching your final college destination. As your single point of contact for all things UNI, they can provide you with information, walk you through your next steps upon admission and answer any questions you may have. Meeting with students is their favorite thing so don't hesitate to set up a virtual chat!
Prepare to apply
If you're looking ahead, feel free to take a look at the two ways you can apply, our coursework requirements and admission-based FAQs. When can you apply? Our application opens July 1. And although UNI doesn't have a priority deadline for applications, we recommend applying by the start of your second semester of your senior year.

If so, be sure to take courses that would fulfill UNI's general education requirements rather courses that may relate to your future major. Here's a compiled list of some of commonly-taken courses and the general education category they will satisfy at UNI. There is a minimum of 37 total general credit hours required for students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. If you've taken courses that aren't listed here, we recommend using our transfer equivalencies tool to see the breakdown of what UNI course your community college course will satisfy.
