The University of Northern Iowa offers over 40 graduate programs in a diversity of areas. Prospective graduate students must have graduated from an undergraduate program with results equivalent to a 3.00 GPA (grade point average) or above on a 4.00 scale. In addition, the following must be submitted:
A completed online application form
- A non-refundable application fee of $75
- All post-secondary educational transcripts*
- Proof of English proficiency**
Additional documents as required by individual departments
- Standardized exams are required for some programs
- A copy of the personal data page of your passport
- A completed UNI Financial Statement and Certification form
*Unofficial transcripts can be submitted for the purpose of admission. Official documents must be arranged before enrollment.
** Unofficial TOEFL, IELTS and Duolingo scores can be submitted for the purpose of admission. In most cases these scores can be verified for authenticity.
