The mission of the University of Northern Iowa master's degree program in social work is to equip students with a trauma informed foundation that will prepare them for advanced practice and leadership. Students and faculty are committed to creating environments that enhance optimal human potential and growth. Program Options Currently Available:

MSW Foundation: for those without an undergraduate degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program
- Fully online
- Part-time

MSW Adv. Standing: for those with an undergraduate degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program
- In-person or fully online options
- Full-time (part-time study available)
- Summer start

CSWE's international degree review
Minimum undergraduate grade point average of a 3.2 or above on a 4.0 point scale
Official TOEFL score of (79), IELTS score of (6.5), or Duolingo score of (105) to be considered for full admission
Three letters of recommendation

Application Deadlines:

Foundation: September 1 (even years only)
Adv. Standing: December 1 (every year)

Program Duration:

Foundation: 3.5 years
Adv. Standing: 1 year

Graduate Funding Requirements:

Students must complete and submit the Graduate College Assistantship Application and the Graduate College Scholarship Application form by January 31st.
