Specific graduate admission requirements for applicants from Republic of Korea
Required Credentials:
Must have a degree equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree from a recognized and accredited institution for our Master’s degree programs.
- Degrees equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree:
- Minimum of 4 years of postsecondary studies:
- Haksa (Bachelor’s Degree)
- Bachelor of Laws As of 2012
- Minimum of 4 years of postsecondary studies:
Must have a degree equivalent to a U.S. Master’s degree from a recognized and accredited institution for our Doctoral degree programs.
- Degrees equivalent to a U.S. Master’s degree:
- Minimum of 2 years of graduate studies:
- Soksa (Master’s Degree)
- Minimum of 2 years of graduate studies:
- Degrees equivalent to a U.S. Doctoral degree:
- Minimum of 3 years of graduate studies beyond the Master’s degree and defense of a dissertation:
- Paksa (Doctoral Degree)
- Minimum of 3 years of graduate studies beyond the Master’s degree and defense of a dissertation:
** Other degrees may also be equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree. If you do not see your degree listed, please email international.admissions@uni.edu with a copy of your degree certificate and transcript, and one of our international staff members will be in contact with you.
Minimum Academic Standard:
Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75
** Students below a 2.75 may be considered for conditional admission
English Language Proficiency Required For Non-Native Speakers:
- TOEFL: Minimum of 79 Total (iBT) or Minimum of 550 Total (PBT) - Does not include TOEFL Best Score
- IELTS: Minimum of 6.5 Overall Band Score
- Duolingo: Minimum of 105
- Specific programs have higher TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo minimums. Please see our graduate majors page to determine what your required minimum TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo score is.
** Students with low or no English proficiency score may be considered for conditional admission.

- Completed application for admission
- Official transcripts sent from your current and/or all prior academic institutions that you have attended to the UNI Office of Admissions (unofficial copies can be submitted for initial review)
- Official degree certificate/diploma (unofficial copies can be submitted for initial review)
- Official English test score reports (unofficial copies can be submitted for initial review)
- Financial statement and certification form
- $75 application fee
