Transfer Resources

Transfer Tools

Transferring to UNI from an Iowa community college? Check out our Transfer Plans of Study to help with understanding course requirements and recommendations.

We've also put together lists of courses found in current catalogs from other select institutions along with information on how those courses transfer to UNI. To compare transfer courses with equivalent UNI courses, check out our Transfer Course Equivalency Lists or Transfer Plan-It tools. Please note that these lists do not include all colleges outside of the state of Iowa. If you do not see your college or the course listed, please contact the Office of Admissions, as all courses have not been previously evaluated.

Transfer Scholarships

Several scholarships are available to students transferring to UNI. Click here for more information about each of these. Some scholarships require individual applications, however, you can also apply for many scholarships at once by submitting the UNI Scholarship Application which opens on July 1 each year.

Majors with Additional Requirements

Some majors have additional requirements to get into upper-level courses—Education, Business, Music and Social Work are a few.

Transfer Connection Program (formerly APP)

The Transfer Connection program is a coordinated plan between the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and the Iowa community colleges. Transfer Connection assists students with a seamless transition from their community college to UNI by providing advising and resources from both the community college and UNI.
