What kind of on-campus organizations/activities are you involved in? How does that involvement enrich your overall college experience?
I am involved with several on-campus organizations such as Dance Marathon, BASIC, CIEP Conversation Partners, Relay for Life, intramurals and on campus employment. I have learned an incredible amount from being with these groups. I have met numerous people and had the chance to listen to their amazing stories. It is really about who you know. Many of my friends are involved with the same things I am and have the same goals I do.
What do you like best about major?
My major reflects what I love to do. Talking and interacting with others is a part of everyday life. My major is improving my skills in areas I plan on using for the rest of my life. The professors and staff in the Communications department are enjoyable and wise. They care about students and many of the class sizes are smaller.
What's the best thing about UNI?
The best thing about UNI is the people you meet and the faces who greet you. When I walk to class each day, I see faces I recognize. They don't hesitate to greet me with a friendly “hello!” My favorite thing is meeting new people. With a town the size of Cedar Falls and the size of the student body on campus, there are plenty of new faces to meet everyday. This gives students the opportunity everyday to meet new people and build new connections.
