Music Education Day

You are invited to the University of Northern Iowa to learn about majoring in Music Education. The UNI Music Education Day is designed for Juniors and Seniors in high school who are considering a career in music education working as an elementary music specialist, middle school/high school school choral teacher, or middle school/high school school instrumental teacher. This free event for registrants will include classes in conducting, choral and instrumental methods from UNI professors, sitting in on ensemble rehearsals including UNI Singers, Jazz Combo and Orchestra, meet with current students, and experience first hand what it might be like to be a music education major in college. 

8:30 - 9 a.m. - Check-in at GBPAC

9 - 10 a.m. - Admissions 101 and Music Education Student Panel

10 - 11 a.m. - Campus Tours

11 a.m. - Noon - Conducting, Elementary Methods, and Choral and Instrumental Methods

Noon - 1 p.m. - Lunch in the Piazza Dining Center

1 - 2 p.m. - Seminar (students) and School of Music Faculty Panel and Information Session (Parents)

2 - 3:30 p.m. -  Rehearsals
