Step 1) Review Admission Requirements:

If you're planning to come to UNI right after high school, admission depends on completion of certain high school courses and your Regent Admission Index (RAI). View freshmen admission requirements.

Step 2) Schedule a Campus Visit:

The campus visit is an important step to deciding on the right college. If you haven’t visited campus and taken a tour, come see why you’ll be proud to call UNI home!

Step 3) Apply for Admission:

You can apply as early as one year before you plan to enroll. See our checklist for undergraduate admission for more information.

Step 4) Apply for Financial Aid:

Be sure to submit your FAFSA in January or February. Check out scholarships and complete the UNI Scholarship Application by January 15. Our Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships staff is here to assist you in finding ways to fund your education.

Step 5) Commit to UNI:

After you are admitted, you need to accept your offer of admission to let us know you plan to enroll. To accept your offer of admission, complete the acceptance form and pay your acceptance fee.

Step 6) Complete Housing Application:

Once you’re admitted, you can complete the housing contract beginning September 1. While you’re not required to live on campus, there are many reasons you’ll want to.

Step 7) Attend Orientation and Register for Classes:

At orientation, you’ll meet with an advisor who will help you choose your classes and then register for classes. You’ll receive your UNI ID card during orientation too.

Step 8) Stay Tuned:

More information will come your way! Be sure to check your mail, email (the one you listed on your application) and texts for updates, announcements and reminders.
